White Oak (Quercus alba)

White Oak shags its bark sideways, and of course the leaves have the “oak shape” that first comes to our mind when we think of the oak tree. It has the typical lyre-shaped leaf. Most of the oaks are tannic, and we use tannic plants to tighten and tone tissues of a wound that did not heal “properly.” In addition to tanning, white oak can also be used as an astringent to wounds.
