On the cloud sea to the southwest of Bright Top, a huge "turtle" (Turtle Peak) appears to be swimming amongst steep ridges and peaks. At sunrise or sunset, when rosy clouds may appear, radiant golden light glitters in the sky and mountains are covered with beautiful coats of many colors.

The mountaintops often offer views of the clouds from above, known as the Sea of Clouds (Chinese: 云海; pinyin: yúnhǎi) [9] or "Huangshan Sea" [8] because of the cloud's resemblance to an ocean, and many vistas are known by names such as "North Sea" or "South Sea."

The sea of clouds is divided into five areas: the south of the lotus peak, and the tiandu peak is the south China sea or the foresea. The manjusri terrace on the jade screen pavilion is the best place to view the sea.

Nestled in Anhui Province in the eastern part of China, the Yellow Mountains (Mount Huang or Huangshan) are some of the most famous mountains in China, with their strangely-shaped pine trees, grotesque rocks, a sea of clouds and a hot spring proclaimed as its four wonders.
