Only a short distance to the campground and to that point, it's really not bad. If your going to continue on the road, say to the other end of the lake, it's pretty narrow. Fine with a car or …
Only a short distance to the campground and to that point, it's really not bad. If your going to continue on the road, say to the other end of the lake, it's pretty narrow. Fine with a car or regular truck. Just be patient, enjoy the views and work with the cars coming toward you for passing.

Hi David, my family & I are going up first week of August, 2015. What kind of weather can we expect? Warm? Hot days cool/cold nights? Windy? Summer storms? Also we like to SUP & plan to bring our boards. However we only have hard boards not inflatables. Will they be too comber some? And how long of a walk to the lake from the campsite? It will be warm, hot on the lake. But weather changes quickly up there and there is a chance of summer storms. The campground at Fallen Leaf Lake is pretty tree covered so there is plenty of shade. Nights will be chilly but comfortable (subjective). It is a little bit of a walk from the campground to the lake, but there are areas where you can drive with your boards and get close to lake access. There is a marina at Fallen Leaf and a parking lot with beach access to Tahoe Lake right across the road from Fallen Leaf Lake Road.
